High Mortality of Children : Some Facts

Children are the future of our country and of the world as a whole. It is the duty of every citizen of the world to see and to take care that we are able to give a healthy future to the children and healthy future citizen to this world. Malnutrition is a severe problem which is hampering the future of the world. It is a problem which is affecting the children around the globe and even killing in certain parts of the world. Our country is one of the bitterly affected parts of the world. Melghat, the area covered in this book is also facing this problem severely. It is a hilly and densely forest covered and the population is rural and tribal. The deaths of children due to malnutrition in this region have been widely reported. So, to review and understand the problem and suggest some solutions to this problem, is an urgent need. Through this book, an attempt has been made in this direction. The present book is having seven chapters. The analysis of Government data is presented to produce the official facts whereas to present the real situation, the self collected data related to social, economical and demographical factors are analyzed and findings are presented. Some very important recommendations are also suggested. Here an effort has been made to study and present the causes and cure of malnutrition in the backdrop of social, economical and the demographical factors. This book is useful for the researcher’s working in the area of social science and demography.
