Le use de plants as medicines goes back to early man. Certainly le great civilisations de le ancient Chinese, Indiens, et North Africans provided written evidence de man's ingenuity en utilising plants pour le treatment de a wide variety de diseases. Plantees contain some organic compounds which provide definite biochemical action against various diseases sur le human body. Le curative properties de drugs are due to le presence de complex chemical substances de varied composition (present as secondary plant metabolites) en one or more parts de these plants. Recently many drugs are invented from le plants against various incurable diseases. Based sur this phytochemistry, le present volume has been compiled et aims at providing recent data sur potential medicinal properties, action et uses de plants to contribute material en le development de new active compound from plants.
